GUIDED FACIAL MASSAGE™
Guided Facial Massage™ was created by Nicole in 2020, during the first lockdown.
When in-person treatments had to be paused, Nicole began hosting small, live online facial massage sessions. The intention was to create a shared self-care space where her clients could look after their skin from the comfort of their own home while still feeling connected to others.
Each session combined gentle guidance, breathwork and hands-on facial techniques, allowing participants to follow in real time. What began as a way to stay connected quickly grew. She opened it up to the public and people joined from all over the UK, and soon after from countries such as: Spain, Amsterdam, the United States and Australia.
The structure of being guided - rather than simply watching and taking notes - became central to the method. The pace, the cues and the rhythm allowed people to settle into their bodies and approach their skin with more awareness and intention.
As restrictions lifted, Guided Facial Massage™ returned to physical spaces, often in collaboration with skincare brands launching new products - particularly facial oils - or as part of wider brand awareness events.
During this time, Nicole collaborated with Rachael, founder of RESET Yoga in Glasgow. Rachael was hosting her well-loved “Secret Sessions” - yoga gatherings held in undisclosed locations across the city, with the venue revealed on the morning of the event.
Guided Facial Massage™ featured as part of several of these sessions, creating a thoughtful pairing of structured facial work followed by movement.
These early collaborations helped set a new standard for collaborative self-care events: thoughtful, well-paced and rooted in genuine expertise. In the years since, similar formats have become widely adopted across the industry.
The growth of Guided Facial Massage™ brought unexpected opportunities. It led to a residency at Liberty London in collaboration with Wild Source Skincare, and to delivering sessions and workshops for organisations including Police Scotland and Young Scot. Nicole has hosted online influencer events with some of the UK’s leading digital creators, and developed step-by-step Guided Facial Massage™ features for brands such as Bed Folk within their lifestyle platform, Allies of Skin & Sanctuary Spa.
Over time, Guided Facial Massage™ did more than expand into events and collaborations. It reshaped Nicole Campbell-Watson’s approach to skincare and treatment work.
Developing the method deepened her understanding of the relationship between the nervous system and the skin. It reinforced something she had intuitively felt for years — that skin responds best when the body feels safe and settled.
Guided Facial Massage™ shifted her perspective away from rigid choreography and towards a more responsive way of working. Techniques became frameworks rather than scripts. Structure remained important, but treatments adapted fluidly to the individual in front of her — their tension patterns, their pace and their energy.
What began as a way to bring people together during an uncertain time has grown into a recognised methodology.
Guided Facial Massage™ continues to evolve, while remaining rooted in the same principles it was built on: considered pacing, regulated touch and technique that respects both the skin and the nervous system.
As it expands into education and professional development, its origins remain central- connection, clarity and confident hands.
